ReaperAle Sleighor Double IPA

Anglo-American Style Ales > Imperial / Double IPA

Brewer

ReaperAle

Location

Vista, California, USA

Description

"Don’t be fooled by the label depicting a Grim Reaper Santa Claus in a sleigh pulled by skeletal reindeer – it is not a Christmas Ale. "Sleighor” is an Imperial India Pale Ale. Intense hop bitterness, flavor and aroma dominate. To complement, body is full and malt and alcohol flavors are complex. Alcohol is 9.1% abv. Bitterness is 85 ibu’s. The entire family of Cascade hops are used – Cascade, Centennial, and Columbus in the boil and Amarillo dry-hopping, giving this brew a distinct profile true to its West Coast IPA roots. Presentation is clear copper with a thick tan head coupled with billowing citrus and floral hop aroma. No cinnamon sticks, no Yule log, no long sleepy poems about hops and mistletoe, just more big-flavor beer from the Reaper."
